CBI raids offices, homes of lawyers Indira Jaising, Anand Grover in foreign funding case
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The CBI on Thursday carried out raids at the residence of Supreme Court advocates Indira Jaisingh and Anand Grover, in connection with the alleged violation of a law on foreign funding for their NGO.
Raids are on at the homes and offices of Indira Jaisingh and Anand Grover in Delhi and Mumbai in connection with the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) violation case. The probe agency had earlier filed a case against the two.
In May this year, the Supreme Court had issued notices advocates Indira Jaising and Anand Grover, and their NGO Lawyers' Collective, while hearing a petition filed by petitioner Lawyer's Voice seeking status of investigations into an alleged case of FCRA violation by the NGO.
The case involves contributions to their NGO when Indira Jaising was Additional Solicitor General between 2009 and 2014. The expenses of her foreign trips at the time were from the NGO without home ministry approval, according to the CBI.
More details are awaited.
