#Repost @tedthestoner . We all would urge @cmokerala to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice for this heinous crime. A pregnant elephant was fed cracker stuffed pineapple by unidentified people in Kerala which exploded in her mouth and damaged her jaw. She walked around the village and finally passed away standing in a river. We keep searching for monsters hoping they would be having the devil's horns on their heads. But look around you, the monsters walk beside you. This elephant was going to give birth 18-20 months later. Even after the elephant was injured, she did not crush a single home or hurt a single human being. She just stood in a river because of the excruciating pain and passed away without hurting a single soul. From anybody who throws stones at a stray dog to anybody hurting a living soul, choose one face. A lot of these animals trust human beings because they have been helped by them in the past. This is cruel beyond measure. When you lack empathy and kindness, you do not deserve to be called a human being. To hurt someone is not human. Just stricter laws won't help. We need a decent execution of the law too. Until the guilty are punished in the worst possible way, these wicked monsters will never fear the law. Though it's a difficult task, I hope they are able to find out the one who committed this crime and punish them accordingly. Artwork by Bratuti.

Randeep Hooda wrote, “An act most #inhumane to willfully feed a pineapple full of fire crackers to friendly wild pregnant #Elephant is just unacceptable.” He then tagged several people, including Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Meanwhile, Business Tycoon Ratan Tata also took to Twitter to grieve the death of the elephant and expressed shock. He also stated that the action against the animal was no different than murdering any human.

“I am grieved and shocked to know that a group of people caused the death of an innocent, passive, pregnant elephant by feeding the elephant with a pineapple filled with firecrackers. Such criminal acts against innocent animals are no different than acts of meditated murder against other humans. Justice needs to prevail," Tata said on Twitter.

IFS officer Parveen Kaswan on twitter, "Just read this. This elephant grew up there, was known as good. Even after injury she didn’t crush a single house or human. She went to river and stood. They tried to rescue her with two elephants but couldn’t save."

Political Leaders:

After extensive tagging by hundreds of people, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan as reported by ANI said that “Strict action will be taken against those who are responsible for killing the pregnant elephant. Forest department is probing the case and the culprits will be brought to book”.

She tweeted saying, "State with 100% literacy rate failing to hold Humanity and turning out to be a State of goons! Infact the incident took place in the Red-Jihad breeding ground Malappuram of Kerala."

Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi has also lashed out at the inhuman treatment meted out to the pregnant elephant. He wrote on Twitter, "Most disgusting: pregnant elephant offered a firecracker laden pineapple by locals which exploded in its mouth & caused it to die. I don't normally call for "eye for an eye" but the actual animals who did this must be treated the same way."

In the autopsy, it was found that the upper and lower jaw, teeth and tongue of the elephant were badly damaged. The cause of death is due to aspiration of the lungs as it was filled with water. The incident has attracted huge condemnation on social media, where the memes showed the mother elephant saying it was her fault to trust the human race, while the unborn child in her womb kept asking: "What is my fault, Ma?"
