New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: All eight security guards deployed in the protection of BJP leader, Sheikh Wasim Bari, who was killed by terrorists along with his father and brother on Wednesday, have been arrested in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district.

Earlier yesterday, a BJP leader, his father and brother were shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora. As per news agency ANI, terrorists fired upon the former Bandipora BJP president Wasim Bari outside his shop near the police station at around 9 pm. Bari's brother Umar Sultan and father Bashir also got injured in the firing. Later, all three succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. 

"Former Bandipora BJP president Wasim Bari, his father and brother, all 3 succumbed to their injuries. The family had a component of 8 security people but unfortunately, none of them was kept along at the time of incident," said J&K DGP Dilbag Singh. 

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah condemned the terrorist attack on the BJP functionary, his family members and offered his condolences.

"Sorry to hear about the murderous terror attack on the BJP functionaries & their father in Bandipore earlier this evening. I condemn the attack. My condolences to their families in this time of grief. Sadly the violent targeting of mainstream political workers continues unabated," Abdullah tweeted.

Senior BJP leader Ram Madhav said he was shocked by the killing. "Shocked and saddened by the killing of young BJP leader Wasim Bari and his brother by terrorists in Bandipora. This despite 8 security commandos. Condolences to the family," Madhav tweeted.
