‘All I want is justice’: Nirbhaya’s mother backs Kangana Ranaut’s reply to Indira Jaising’s ‘forgive convicts’ remark
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: A day after Kangana Ranaut slammed senior advocate Indira Jaising for her ‘forgive convicts’ remark, Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi on Thursday came in support of the actress and said that people Jaising only ‘support the culprits’.
“I agree with Kangana Ranaut's statement. I am glad she has reacted to this disgusting remark by Indira Jaising. I am a mother and all I want is justice for my daughter who passed away seven years back. People like Indira Jaising run 'human rights' business and only support the culprits,” Nirbhaya’s mother, quoted by news agency ANI, said.
https://t.co/l0DBKNm9ZQ pic.twitter.com/Op8GOJd0fB— ANI_HindiNews (@AHindinews) January 23, 2020
Actress Kangana Ranaut on Wednesday slammed Jaising, saying that women like her give birth to "monsters and murderers". “That lady (Jaising) should be kept in jail with those convicts for four days...Women like them give birth to these kind of monsters and murderers,” Ranaut, quoted by ANI, said on Wednesday.

Advocate Indira Jaising on January 17 had urged Nirbhaya's mother to pardon the men on death row who were convicted for the 2012 gang rape of her daughter. She took to Twitter to make the request shortly after Asha Devi expressed her disappointment following a Delhi court postponed the date of the execution of the four convicts.
“While I fully identify with the pain of Asha Devi I urge her to follow the example of Sonia Gandhi who forgave Nalini and said she didn't not want the death penalty for her. We are with you but against the death penalty,” she had tweeted.

This is not the first when Nirbhaya’s mother has lashed out at Jaising. Earlier, she had said that it is because of people like her that justice is not done with rape victims, adding that she had met the senior advocate several times in the Supreme Court but ‘not once’ was she concerned about her well being.
Nirbhaya, the 23-year-old paramedic student, was brutally raped by six convicts on the intervening night of December 16-17 in a moving bus in south Delhi. She succumbed to her injuries a fortnight later at a hospital in Singapore.
