'6-10 Pak soldiers, as many terrorists killed as Army destroys 3 terror camps in PoK': Bipin Rawat
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The Indian Army on Sunday destroyed at least three terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and killed at 6-10 Pakistani soldiers and as many terrorists, Army Chief Bipin Rawat said. The Army’s counter-attack in Neelam valley -- opposite the Tangdhar sector of Kupwara -- came after two Indian soldiers and a civilian lost their lives in the unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistani soldiers on the intervening night of October 19-20.
"On the basis of reports that we have been getting, 6 to 10 Pakistani soldiers have been killed, three terrorist camps have been destroyed. A similar number of terrorists have also been killed," PTI quoted Rawat as saying.
On Saturday, Rawat said that terrorists made an attempt to infiltrate through the Tangdhar region following which the Indian Army retaliated through with firing and caused “severe damage to terrorists infrastructure.”
"We retaliated after Pakistan carried out attack firing at our posts," he said.
The Army chief claimed that terrorist camps opposite the Tangdhar sector have been destroyed. He added that the force has been getting repeated inputs of infiltration across the borders following the abrogation of Article 370 to disturb the peace and harmony in the valley.
Rawat went on to say that things are getting back to normal, but he felt that someone else is working behind the scenes at the behest of terrorists and agencies within and outside the country.
The Indian Army had used artillery guns to target terrorist camps in Jura, Athmuqam and Kundalsahi of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) harbouring terrorists affiliated with outfits like Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba, which are actively trying to enter the Indian territory.
