New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: With 3,320 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, India's tally has climbed to 59,662, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare while adding that 95 fatalities were reported in the same period.

As per the Health Ministry, there are 39,834 active coronavirus cases in the country while 1,981 people have died. It further said that 17,847 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals. 

Maharashtra, the worst-hit state in India, has reported over 19,000 coronavirus cases while more than 700 people have died. On the other hand, the tally has crossed 7,400-mark in Gujarat while 449 people have lost their lives.

Madhya Pradesh has reported 3,341 coronavirus cases and 200 deaths so far while the tally has breached the 6,300-mark in Delhi with 68 fatalities.

The coronavirus cases are growing at alarming rate in India. Amid the spike in the number of cases, the Health Ministry on Friday said that the country "need to learn to live with the virus" and urged people to make COVID-19 prevention guidelines a part of their lives as a behavioural change amid easing of lockdown restrictions and migrant labourers returning home.

"And when we are talking about learning to live with the virus then it is very important that the guidelines that are there on saving oneself from the virus are adopted in the community as a behavioural change," said Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal.

The government further said that there has been a reduction in the doubling time of COVID-19 cases in the country from 12 days till two days ago to 10 now because of the spike in cases at some places.
