New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: After runaway success of ‘Pataal Lok’ on Amazon Prime Video, actor-producer Anushka Sharma and brother Karnesh Sharma-led Clean Slate Productions is all set for its next OTT release – ‘Bulbbul’ – a Netflix original which doesn’t star Anushka herself but is entangled with the creative optimal of Tripti Dimri and Avinash Tiwary of ‘Laila-Majnu’(2018) fame and critically-acclaimed actor Rahul Bose.

Directed by Anvita Dutt, who co-wrote the screenplays of Queen (2013) and Phillauri (2017) among others, ‘Bulbbul’ will be premiered on Netflix on June 24.

The teaser shows a young girl walking across a red moon amid the haunted music in the background.


Netflix describes ‘Bulbbul’ as follows: “A child bride grows up to be an enigmatic woman presiding over her household, harbouring a painful past as supernatural murders of men plague her village.”


According to an Indian Express report, Bulbbul tells the story of Satya and his brother’s child bride Bulbul. Satya is sent to school in England, and after his return, he finds out about Bulbul serving the people of his village after being abandoned by his brother. However, the village is haunted by a mysterious woman and Satya must find out the truth.

Last seen as a female lead in Aanad L. Rai’s ‘Zero’ (2018) opposite Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, Anushka is mostly active as a Producer in the film industry, with most of her production projects  released or are slated to release on OTT platforms, such as Amazon Prime and Netflix.
