New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: The novel coronavirus has wreaked havoc across the world and continues to grow at an alarming rate. In India, the deadly pathogen has affected over 10 lakh and claimed the lives of more than 26,000. Scientists and researchers across the world are trying their best to find a cure for the deadly disease but have failed to do that so far.

Amid the alarming situation, Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar, who turned 31 on Saturday, said that her birthday wish for this year is a vaccine or a solution for the dreadful COVID-19.

The Dum Laga Ke Haisha actress, who is currently staying at home with her family, said that the world “truly needs to find a solution or a vaccine for the novel coronavirus”.

"My birthday wish for this year is that all the people who are affected by the virus and all the people that are vulnerable because of the situations currently, get some peace, get happiness and we truly find a solution or a vaccine for COVID-19,” she was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.

Bhumi Pedneker also spoke about her birthday plans and revealed that her birthday is special as she is celebrating it with her family. "It will be special because I won't be meeting anyone and will be with my family at home. It will be very simple and basic. No special plans as such," she said, as reported by IANS.

“Actually, I am very big on birthdays. I include a lot of people, a lot of my loved ones. I get pampered a lot but I think this year I am just going to be with my mom and my sister. We would probably be on Zoom call with everyone that I love," she added.

On a question where she was asked about how has the lockdown affected her? she replied, "I am a very busy person. I love spending time with my family but I love working, so I miss being on sets. I miss working. As we all can see the world is slowly trying to co-exist with the virus.”

The versatile actress has been busy even during the lockdown as she has been keeping her fans entertained by updating her work-out routines, cooking videos, and makeup tutorials on her official Instagram handle.

"But apart from that I have been writing here and there, have been watching some great content, reading a lot of books. I have been working out a lot actually. I have been meditating. I have surprisingly been very busy. I have been doing a lot of digital collaborations, which also kept me busy," she added.

Bhumi Pednekar also penned down a heartfelt note on Instagram where she revealed that she was “overwhelmed” on receiving the love from fans, and friends.
