Twitter suspends Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel’s account over controversial tweet on Moradabad incident
New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Micro-blogging site Twitter on Thursday suspended Kangana Ranaut's sister and manager Rangoli Chandel's account over a controversial tweet regarding the Moradabad stone-pelting incident.
Rangoli was quite active on Twitter and a lot of her tweets ended up in word battles with various B-town stars. This time her official account has been suspended by the authorities.
Rangoli who is quite blunt about her opinions, took over the Twitter and posted regarding the Moradabad stone pelting incident that happened recently. In the tweet, Chandel wrote of shooting people dead while referring to the incident wherein a medical team screening coronavirus suspects in Moradabad was attacked by some people.
Chandel also used the term "Nazi" in her tweet which was found to be objectionable by many of the users on the medium.
After Rangoli’ tweet, film-maker Reema Kagti bashed her saying that authorities should intervene as the tweet is dispersing hate speech, Reema tweeted, "Could you please look into this and take action? Isn’t this spreading fake news AND inciting hatred & violence against certain people?@OfficeofUT."
Soon after Reema’s tweet, various celebs and well-known names joined hands with her for standing against Rangoli's controversial tweet.
Actress Kubra Sait tweeted that she had already blocked Rangoli as Kangana's sister never fails to spread hatred in the name of opinion. Jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali also thanked the Twitter team for suspending Rangoli's twitter handle as Rangoli was always trying to target one community.
Farah tweeted," Thank you @Twitter @TwitterIndia @jackfor suspending this account. I reported this because she targeted a specific community and called for them to be shot along with liberal media and compared herself to the Nazis."
Rangoli Chandel who declares herself Kangana's spokesperson did not stop here and declared Twitter as a partial and anti-India platform, she published a statement saying, "Twitter is an American platform absolutely biased and anti-India, you can make fun of Hindu Gods call Prime Minister and Home Minister terrorists but if you say anything about people pelting stones on health workers and Police forces they suspend your account, I have no desire of empowering any such platforms with my perspective and honest opinions, so I am not reviving my account, I was my sister's spokesperson now watch out for her direct interviews, she is a huge star she has many ways of reaching out, a biased platform can be easily avoided."
According to the policy of the micro-blogging site, tweets that propagate or incite violence, hatred, terrorism, abuse or harassment are subjected to be reported following which Twitter account of the user gets suspended.
