Sushant Singh Rajput's Death: Family alleges foul play, says he was murdered; demands probe
New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Sushant Singh Rajput’s maternal uncle and his brother-in-law have suspected foul play in the death of the actor who was found dead in his Mumbai residence on Sunday.
According to news agency IANS, Sushant’s brother-in-law O P Singh, who is the Additional Director General of Police and posted as Special Officer in the Haryana Chief Minister's Office, has sought a thorough probe into the incident.
Meanwhile, the actor’s maternal uncle also alleged a conspiracy behind the death, claiming that the ‘Kai Po Che’ actor has been murdered.
“We don’t think he committed suicide, police must investigate the matter. There seems to be a conspiracy behind his death. He has been murdered,” he was quoted by news agency ANI as saying.
Sushant was found hanging in his Bandra apartment on Sunday. His death came just days after his former manager, 28-year-old Disha Salian, ended her life by jumping from a high rise building on June 9.
"Actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide at his Bandra residence by hanging himself in Mumbai on Sunday," Additional Commissioner of Police Dr Manoj Sharma confirmed.
According to police, they did not find any foul play in their initial investigation and the actor committed suicide after suffering from depression for the past several months.
Several media reports have claimed that the postmortem report has confirmed death by hanging, concluding to suicide. However, news agency ANI on Monday said that the postmortem is being conducted at Dr R N Cooper Municipal General Hospital and the details of the report were still awaited.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Cyber Police Department, the nodal agency for cyber-crime investigation on Sunday asked netizens to refrain from circulating pictures of deceased Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
