New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: The statement of filmmaker Aditya Chopra, of Yash Raj Films, was recorded in connection with the investigation pertaining to actor Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide case, Mumbai Police said on Saturday. Chopra's statement in the matter was recorded at Versova Police Station.

The MS Dhoni actor was found dead in his Bandra residence on June 14. The police said that the actor died by suicide, however, the police are investigating every angle including the professional rivalry and clinical depression as the reason for his suicide.   

The Mumbai police have so far recorded statements of 34 people, including friends, family and co-stars in the matter since the Maharashtra government ordered a probe into the demise which shook the nation.

On Friday, the Mumbai police had also recorded the statement of Sushant Singh Rajput’s psychiatrists, Dr Kersi Chavda. His statement was recorded to throw light on his medical history, his recent mental state and the changed dosage of the medicines. Statements of three other doctors have also been recorded by the police.

Since his demise, many actors, politicians have been demanding a CBI probe into his death. Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty on Thursday also requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to order a CBI probe into his death.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Friday has ruled out that the case need any CBI investigation and said that the Mumbai police is capable of handling the matter in the right way. "There was no need to give the case to the CBI. Our police officials are capable and doing the inquiry in the right way. We are also examining the angle of business rivalry," Deshmukh said.

Sushant Singh Rajput had committed suicide on June 14. Police informed that the actor was battling with depression and was taking anti-depressant pills from the last six months. Investigations are still going on to check if there was any professional rivalry.
