New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapor on Thursday passed away at Mumbai's Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital. He was 67 years old. The sad news was confirmed by his brother Randhir Kumar, according to news agency PTI. 

Rishi, a third-generation actor of the famous Kapoor dynasty, is survived by his wife Neetu Kapoor, actor son Ranbir and daughter Ridhima.

Following the demise, several Bollywood celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan expressed their condolences on social media. 

Actor Amitabh Bachchan said he was destroyed. In a tweet post, he wrote, "T 3517 - He's GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed!"

Calling it a "nightmare", Akshay Kumar wrote, "It seems like we’re in the midst of a nightmare...just heard the depressing news of #RishiKapoor ji passing away, it’s heartbreaking. He was a legend, a great co-star and a good friend of the family. My thoughts and prayers with his family."

Karan Johar said, "He was my childhood....."

"Just can’t believe this. Woke up to the shocking news of Ji passing away. Condolences to the Kapoor family. We will miss you Rishi Ji," tweeted Tamannah Bhatia.

Nusrat Bharucha said that she was "heartbroken."

"Heartbroken with the news of demise of Legendary @chintskap Sir. The movies will never be the same again. Rest in peace. Prayers & Duas wishing strength for the family & fans. #RishiKapoor," she wrote on the micro-blogging site. 

Parineeti Chopra said he was her "favourite".

"This cannot be true! Rishi sir was my favourite man, and favourite co-star ever! I still remember being nervous around him in Shuddh Desi Romance. He would put me at ease and treat me just like a friend! Will never forget every advice, every joke he told.  #RIP #RishiKapoor

Tonny Kakkar said that he was "extremely sad" to hear the news. 

"Extremely sad to hear that #RishiKapoor sir is no more. This makes the year 2020 even worse," he wrote on Twitter.  

Other Bollywood celebrities like Lata Mangeshkar, John Abraham, Swara Bhaskar, Shirley Setia, Himansh Kohli and other Bollywood celebrities also mourned the death of the legendary actor.
