New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor died in a Mumbai hospital on Thursday, said his brother Randhir Kapoor. He was 67. 

"He is no more. He has passed away," Randhir told PTI.

Rishi, who was suffering from cancer, was taken to the H N Reliance hospital by his family on Wednesday. The actor had returned to India last September after undergoing treatment for cancer in the US for almost a year. In February, he was hospitalised twice. 

Several Bollywood stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and political leaders mourned his death by expressing their grief on social media.

Rishi Kapoor had played the role of a child artist in the flick. His performance won him National Film Award for Best Child Artist.

Bobby (1973)

The Raj Kapoor directorial had featured Rishi Kapoor opposite Dimple Kapadia in lead roles. The film became a blockbuster and introduced to Bollywood the genre of teenage romance. The flick won him Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

Amar Akbar Anthony (1977)

Rishi Kapoor had played the role of Akbar in the Manmohan Desai's directorial. It was widely praised among audiences.

Sargam (1979)

Sargam was a remake of Telugu film Siri Siri Muvva. Rishi Kapoor had featured opposite Jayaprada in the flick. It became a huge success at the box office and took the top spot in 1979. The flick earned him a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

Prem Rog (1982)

The film tells the story of a man's (played by Rishi Kapoor) love towards a woman who is a widow and of higher status. It was considered a classic work by director Raj Kapoor. The film earned high critical acclaim. His performance earned him Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

Chandani (1989)

Rishi Kapoor had played the lead role opposite Sridevi in the romantic musical drama film. Though the film was professional setback for Yash Chropra, it earned him a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

Kapoor and Sons (2016)

Kapoor and Sons depicts the story of two estranged brothers who are compelled to return to their childhood when their 90-year-old grandfather (played by Rishi Kapoor) suffers a heart-attack. The film bagged him Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Do Dooni Char (2010)

The film is about a middle-class school teacher who tries to keep his wife and children happy in inflationary times and dreams of buying a car. Rishi Kapoor won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor in the flick.

Agneepath (2012)

Rishi Kapoor had played the role of Rauf Lala, an underworld don in the action-drama. He runs the meat business and simultaneously deals in drugs and prostitution. His performance earned a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.
