RIP Sushant Singh Rajput: From Kai Po Che to MS Dhoni, a look at his top films and esteemed awards
New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: In a shocking news for the country and specially for the Bollywood industry, famous Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput on Sunday was found hanging in his Bandra house.
The police suspected that the actor committed suicide. The police also said that the actor was suffering from depression from last six months while adding that the house help informed them about the incident.
Sushant Singh Rajput was among the few actors who started their career with small screen and established themselves on the big screen.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s top films:
The actor started his career with the Television show Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil and rose to fame with Pavitra Rishta, which was a top-notch show for many years. He was admired for his calm nature on both the on-screen and off-screen.
Sushant rose to fame on the silver screen from his debut in the 2013 film 'Kai Po Che', for which he received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He was then starred in the romantic comedy Shuddh Desi Romance in 2013 which became a commercial hit.
After that, the actor constantly gave hit movies and was admired for his calm nature and excellent acting skills. Next, Sushant was seen in Amir Khan-starrer ‘PK’, for which he garnered a lot of praise alongside Amir and Anushka.
Then came his career defining film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, which was a biopic of former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Fans as well as critics heaped praise on the actor for his selfless acting and perfect portrayal of the captain cool.
Later in 2017, he starred opposite Kirti Sanon in Raabta. However, the film was not a big hit but Sushant’s acting was praised by the critics. In 2018, Rajput appeared in Kedarnath, a love story set in the backdrop of natural calamities of Kedarnath, Uttarakhand, co-starring Sara Ali Khan.
He was last seen in the 2019 film Chichore, opposite Shraddha Kapoor in which he played the role of a college student. His first OTT release action film was Drive-2019 -which was a direct Netflix release and became a hit.
His upcoming movie is Dil Bechara directed by Mukesh Chhabra and written by Mukesh Chhabra which is based on John Green's 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars.

In the year 2010, he had received his first television award from the Big Entertainment Television actor for ‘Pavitra Rishta’. The same year, He had also received ITA Award for best actor- Desh Ka Sitara.
He was nominated for FilmFare best male debut in 2014 for the movie Kai Po che. For the same movie, he was also received best Male Debut by Producers Guild Film Awards.
He was also nominated for the FilmFare best actor award for MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. For the same film he won the best actor award in the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
