Rashami Desai removed from Ekta Kapoor's Naagin 4? Check details here
New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Famous TV star Rashami Desai, who had started shooting for Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin 4 a few days ago, has been fired from the show, said a media report.
According to the entertainment portal SpotBoyE, Rashami had started shooting for the serial a few days before the lockdown was imposed but as the coronavirus pandemic took a rising curve in the country, her character eventually got struck off from the script.
As per the SpotBoyE report, the creators of Naagin 4 were considering to reduce the production cost to the minimum and as Rashami Desai's character was new to the story and she demanded a considerable amount for the show, they decided to strike her role from the sequel of the series.
"The channel held a meeting with the makers and cast recently, after which Rashami was told that her character of Shlakha will not be taken forward. The channel and the producers are wanting to bring the budget down as we know how crunched the market is as of now. And Rashami was an expensive resource," a source told SpotBoyE.
Talking about the exclusion of a few more actors from the show, a source told the Times of India, “since there is no shooting possible at the moment, the makers are incurring huge costs of maintaining the sets. Rashami has to shoot some portions of her exit. Some other actors will also be removed. During the lockdown, several shows have been affected, so this is not something new for the makers or actors. The current situation is compelling many people to take such difficult decisions.”
Amid the tough times of coronavirus pandemic, the unemployment rates are skyrocketing and a lot of companies are trying to reduce their input cost. The source told the Times of India reported that Rashami has been informed about the same.
“It was a creative call taken by the channel and production house, keeping in mind the current situation in the country. Rashami has been informed about the decision. In these tough times, anything is possible and every actor or technician has to accept the situation and move on,” The Times of India quoted the source as saying.
