New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Almost three decades after Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Sadak’ (1991) starring Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles received an exceptional critical reception for a hallmarked antagonism by Sadashiv Amrapurkar, its second installment starring another Bhatt-daughter Alia Bhatt is all set to release on Disney-Hotstar on 10th July.

However, the development of Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Sadak’ franchise over past three decades appears to stand vindicated with respect to the currently ongoing debates after Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide, as for Mumbai’s Entertainment world being dominated by lobbied forms of nepotism which makes it super difficult for outsider talent to establish its ground.

Henceforth, as the Bhatt’s released the poster of ‘Sadak 2’, what followed was an unprecedented backlash from the users on social media with calls made out to ‘boycott’ the latest Bhatt-creation which will be released on Disney-Hotstar in the second weekend of July.

“Before any one watches Sadak 2 please think what these people did to our Sushant Singh Rajput,” replied one user.

Another user claimed that the latest Mahesh Bhatt-creation displays a ‘nepo gang’ as follows: “Sanjay dutt (son of sunil dutt, nargis dutt), aditya roy kapoor ( brother of sidharth roy kapoor), pooja and alia bhatt (daughters of mahesh bhatt).. full nepo gang in one movie!! Why there is no rajkumar rao or SSR or ayushman or kartik aryan in the movie??”

’#Sadak2 will be a flop’

“When #Sadak2 will become utter flop you will realize that there is an end. #FansLikeNoOther stand together for #justiceforSushantforum,” responded a user.

“We'll make sure you discover there can be a dark disastrous END. The END is banging on your door. #Sadak2,” wrote another user.

On contrary, the lead actress of ‘Sadak-2’, Alia Bhatt muted the ‘reply’ option while tweeting out film’s poster on the micro blogging site.

After Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on 14th June, Mukesh Bhatt in a TV interview had said that Sushant Singh Rajput was going Parveen Babi way and he could see it coming.

“Our industry is very stress-oriented. So my request to the youngsters is that if you cannot cope with the stress this is not the profession to be in. There are occupational hazards. It’s like if you have asthma, you cannot go to Siachen and fight a war because you have weak lungs. You’ve to understand the shortcomings, be intelligent to address those shortcomings. And be prepared to fight those shortcomings," Sadak-2 producer Mukesh Bhatt had said.
