New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Famous Kannada actor Chiranjivee Sarja on Sunday succumbed to a heart attack in Bengaluru. He was 39. Sarja was brought to the Apollo Hospital in Jayanagar after he complained of severe chest pain.

A report by Deccan Herald, quoted Dr Govindaiah Yatheesh, Unit Head, Apollo Specialty Hospital, Jayanagar, as saying, "Actor Chiranjeevi Sarja was talking to his father at 1.10 pm. He was sweating and collapsed. It is around the same time they left the house. At 2.20 pm he reached Apollo Hospital in Jayanagar but had died on the way. The cause of death seems cardiac. But the family has not requested for an autopsy. We have handed over the body to the police. They're yet to leave the hospital premises."

Chiranjeevi Sarja debuted in the Kannada film Industry with Vayupatra in 2009. The actor had done 20 films in his 11 years career. Chiranjeevi Sarja was the brother of south action prince Dhruva Sarja and also the nephew of the South Indian actor Arjun Sarja.  

Soon after the news of his untimely demise broke out, the Kannada film industry started pouring condolences for him on the social media.

Kannada politician and wife of famous actor Ambreesh, Sumalata Ambreesh mourned his death and wrote, “Extremely sad to hear the demise of talented actor Chiranjeevi Sarja, a dear friend who was very close to our family. Abi & me are in total shock .Gone too soon Chiru :( My deepest condolence to his family”.

Kannada Television actress, Shwetha Changappa, wrote, “Chiranjeevi Sarja...RIP.Well known actor of our sandalwood industry. We have lost him today....Seriously I'm still in the shock.Wat is happening in 2020. Very very sad. May his soul rest…”

Chiranjeevi Sarja starred in many hit films including Chirru, Chandralekha, Aatagara, Bharjari, Seizer, ‘Amma I Love You’, among others. He was last featured in the film titled ‘Shivarjuna’.
