New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan complete 47 years of marriage today. Like every year on the occasion of his wedding anniversary, the megastar Amitabh Bachchan once again took to Twitter to share a little secret about his marriage with Jaya Bachchan.

The megastar loves to keep updating his fans about his life through his social media handles. Today, Amitabh Bachchan talked about the unusual circumstances around his wedding. He revealed that the couple was planning to go to London to celebrate the success of his 1973 film ‘Zanjeer’ when his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan heard about his plan. He told him first to get married to Jaya.

The couple were dating at the time so they both agreed as they had to catch a night flight so Harivansh Rai Bachchan informed the relatives and called a pandit to perform the rituals. That’s how they had an intimate wedding.

Big B shared pictures on his official handle from his wedding reminiscing the moments. He wrote, “47 years .. today .. June 3, 1973 .. !!Had decided if 'Zanjeer' succeeded we, with few friends would go to London, first time, to celebrate .. Father asked who you going with ? When I told him who he said, you will marry her then go .. else you don't go .. I obeyed !“

Big B on his 46h wedding anniversary, revealed how their wedding went down. He wrote, "I dress up in formal marriage Indian .. get into my car and want to drive to Malabar Hill where her friends lived and where the ceremony was to be done .. my driver Nagesh, pushes me out and insist he would drive me to the wedding .. the substitute for the tradition horse .. Waiting all set at Mangal, the name of the house on rent on the 7th road JVPD Scheme .. and it begins to drizzle .. neighbours rush out to me .. leave for the wedding now .. the rain is a good omen .. off I went .. wedding over in a few hours .. done .. Mr and Mrs proclaimed .. over !!"

On the work front, Amitabh has some very interesting projects in his hands right now. He will next be seen in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’ which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.

Apart from this, Big B will also be seen in Marathi director Nagraj Manjule’s debut Bollywood movie, ‘Jhund’. He will also be seen sharing screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana in ‘Gulabo Sitabo’. The megastar will also be seen in ‘Chehre’ alongside Emraan Hashmi for the first time.
