New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Coronavirus has not just brought health hazards with it but the deadly contagion has also brought a halted economy and a generation of young students waiting for their colleges to reopen so they can start new semesters. Many of them are also waiting to get their graduation degrees.

Navya Naveli Nanda, who is the granddaughter of Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is one among those who are waiting for the graduation degree this year. Looking at the uncertainty of the graduation ceremony, Navya Naveli decided to mimic one at 'Jalsa', BigB’s bungalow in Mumbai. For this, Navya Naveli wore a black chart paper made graduation hat along with a DIY graduation gown and celebrated in the garden of the house.

Educating about her daughter's graduation, the proud mother, Shweta Bachchan Nanda took to Instagram to congratulate her daughter, and wrote, "class of 2020 - Navya finished college today and since she and everyone else graduating this year won’t get a ceremony we decided to DIY one. With a chart paper cap and a gown hand stitched from scraps of black tenting. I threw on a Fordham ( her college ) sweatshirt over my PJs!! Congratulations baby I love you and am proud of you! Go forth and conquer x ( I’m not crying you’re crying)," wrote Shweta in the caption of her post.

Grandfather BigB and 'Mamu,' Abhishek Bachchan too took pride in congratulating their young princess on her graduation day. BigB wrote on twitter, "Granddaughter NAVYA .. Graduation Day .. graduated from College in New York .. Corona canceled travel & ceremony...But she wanted to wear a gown & cap, staff stitched impromptu gown & cap took pictures at home to celebrate occasion .. such a positive happy attitude."

Whereas Abhishek Bachchan reminded Navya of her initial phase at college when Abhishek had accompanied her to set up her dorm, during her first year.

Abhishek wrote on Instagram, "Congratulations my Navya on your graduation! Although due to the lockdown you were not able to celebrate it at your university with your classmates and the home garden had to suffice. It seems like yesterday that we were moving you into your dorm room as a freshman... Wait, strike that. Not "we", "I"!! (You always managed to make Mamu do the heavy lifting). God bless you! Can't wait to see what you have in store for the world."
