New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: The untimely demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who committed suicide in his Mumbai residence earlier this month, left the entire nation in shock. But at the same time, the shocking incident also led to a storm of fake news and rumours on social media.

One of the friends of the late actor shared pictures of Sushant’s fur buddy Fudge (black labrador) who was apparently heart-broken by the actor’s absence.

Soon, rumours were rife that the dog passed away in grief after being unable to cope with his owner’s death. Several social media posts claimed that the dog stopped eating after Sushant’s death and passed away.

However, a Times of India report quoted sources saying that the not just Fudge, but all four of Sushant’s dogs were fine and doing well at his Pavna house.

Sushant used to share a lot of pictures and videos of Fudge on his social media accounts, making evident his closeness with his fur buddy. After the actor’s death, his fans have been sharing throwback pictures.

Recently, actor Manveer Gurjar took to his Twitter to share pictures of Sushant's dog. In one picture, we can see Fudge licking the phone screen with Sushant's image still on it.

Sushant was found hanging at his Bandra residence on the morning of June 14. The postmortem report confirmed death by hanging, confirming suicide.

The untimely demise - a result of the shocking step taken by the actor who was apparently suffering from depression for the past several months - has prompted a shocked Bollywood to introspect on why outsiders find it so hard to get a foothold into an industry which many directors and actors say is ruled by its own people.

Following Sushant's death, several actors including Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan and Ranvir Shorey have come out to reveal the dark side of the B-Town.

Mumbai Police is investigating several angles, including 'professional rivalry', that may have prompted the 'Kai Po Che' actor to take the extreme step of ending his life.
