New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar starrer 'The Sky is Pink' has failed to make a mark among audience as it reportedly managed to collect Rs 4-5 crore on day 2 of its release. Earlier, the movie had engrossed only 2.5 crore on opening day at the domestic box office. The film is facing stiff competition from Siddharth Anand directorial 'War' featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. There were high expectations from the 'The Sky is Pink' after it received a standing ovation at its premiere at the Toronto film festival.

The earnings are even lower than Priyanka's 'Jai Gangaajal' that released in 2016 but performed better than Farhan's previous releases such as Rock On 2, Lucknow Central and The Fakir of Venice.

The film is expected to get on the right track on Sunday. Helmed by Shonali Bose, The Sky is Pink also features Rohit Saraf and Zaira Wasim in lead roles. The story is based on the life of author Aisha (played by Zaira) who gets diagnosed with a terminal disease and becomes a topic of brawl between her parents. The film is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Priyanka Chopra and Ronnie Screwvala.

War, on the other hand, reportedly earned Rs 10-12 crore on Saturday to cross Rs 250 crore mark. The film is likely to become the highest engrosser of 2019 if it crosses Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh that has earned a total of Rs 277 crore at the domestic box office. Earlier, the film beat Uri: The Surgical strike collection (Rs 244 crore) on Friday to become the second-highest engrosser of 2019.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, War features Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, Vaani Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana in key roles. The story is based on RAW agent Kabir (played by Hrithik) who is on a mission to serve his country. Tiger plays the role of Khalid, another RAW agent in the action-thriller who gets killed by Saurabh. The latter disguises himself as Khalid and tries to kill Kabir, who survives and continues his mission. Vaani Kapoor plays Hrithik's love interest in the film.
