Box office collection: Love Aaj Kal rakes Rs 19.5 crore, Malang mints over Rs 50 crore
New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: The Imitiaz Ali directorial featuring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan on Saturday engrossed Rs 7 crore at the box office. The film had opened at 12.5 crore and thus the total box office collection of the film now stands at roughly Rs 19.5 crore. The valentine's Day release romantic-comedy is Imtiaz Ali's take on his 2009 original, which starred Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan. The latter's daughter is featuring in the film.

The previous installment of Love Aaj Kal had minted Rs 8.02 crore on day 1 and its lifetime collection had stood out at Rs 66.56 in 2009. The second part of the franchise tells about how the concept of love has changed over the years. Randeep Hooda can also be seen in the flick. It's his second collaboration with Imtiaz after 'Highway'.
Malang, on the other hand, added Rs 2.25 crore on day 7 to reach Rs 41.9 crore till Friday. In terms of overall collection, the romantic action-thriller has managed to rake Rs 54.88 crore as per early estimates. The film faced stiff competition with Love Aaj Kal that led to a sip in numbers.

Helmed by Mohit Suri, the film revolves around Aditya Roy Kapur who plays the role of a serial killer in the flick. Disha Patani plays his love interest in the movie. Anil Kapoor will be seen playing the role of a police inspector while Kunal Kemmu portrays the role of Michael Rodriguez.
Meanwhile, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Shikara: The Untold Story of Kashmiri Pandits reportedly engrossed more than Rs 6 crore. The film is based on exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir.
