Box Office Collection: Love Aaj Kal profits dip, Malang inches towards Rs 50 crore-mark
New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Imtiaz Ali's directorial Love Aaj Kal featuring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles witnessed a downward spiral on day 4 earnings at the box office. According to Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, the film registered an epic crash after it made just Rs 2.75 crore on Monday. The romantic comedy has opened at Rs 12.4 crore on Valentine's day and added over Rs 8 crore on day 2 and 3. So far the collection of the film stands out at Rs 31.26 crore.

The second installment of Love Aaj Kal franchise portrays the feeling of pure love which never changes even though the perspective of realising one's soulmate has changed over time. The original film was also directed by Imtiaz Ali starring Saif Ali Khan (Sara's father) and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Apart from Kartik and Sara, Randeep Hooda also features in the flick.
Talking about the box office collection, Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani-starrer Malang, on the other hand, added Rs 1.53 crore on Monday to reach Rs 49.2 crore in overall collection at the domestic box office. The film revolves around two youngsters Advait and Sara, whose lives take a dramatic turn. Helmed by Mohit Suri, the romantic action thriller also features Anil Kapoor (as a cop) and Kunal Kemmu in pivotal roles.
Malang had opened at Rs 6.71 crore on February 7 and went on to earn Rs 25.36 crore in the first week.
Meanwhile, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's directorial Shikara that is based on the love story of Kashmiri Hindu couple at the peak of Islamic terrorism in Kashmir during the 1990s managed to rake Rs 6.7 crore till Monday.
