Bigg Boss 2 winner Ashutosh Kaushik marries fiancee Arpita on terrace amid coronavirus lockdown | Watch
New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Amid the cold conditions of the virulent spread of COVID-19, a few cases of violating lockdown norms over conducting wedding ceremonies were being reported for quite a while. This time, it is the BiggBoss season 2 winner, Ashutosh Kaushik, who defined the relevant approach to get married in the middle of a lockdown.
Ashutosh Kaushik and his fiancee Arpita Tiwari ended up in a rooftop wedding at Arpita's house in Noida, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. At the wedding, only immediate family members were present whereas the rest of the closed ones blessed the couple through a video call.
For his wedding, the groom wore a plain white shirt accompanying with a pair of plain trousers, whereas, the bride, Arpita carried a red flashy lehenga. By looking at the pictures, it seems that the couple made sure of taking all the necessary steps while tying the knot, as even the Pandit who was there for the religious ceremony is seen wearing a mask.
In a past interview with Times Of India, Ashutosh said that their plan to get married on the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritiya was not immediate and had decided the date way before the lockdown.
Talking about the arrangements amid the hustle of coronavirus spread, he said, “We had finalized the date in February, as Akshaya Tritiya is believed to be an auspicious day for new beginnings. So, despite the lockdown, we decided to keep the date. We left for Arpita's residence in a car with just four people, including me. We even requested the Pandit Ji to wear gloves and a mask."
Ashutosh also said that it is stupid to spend big figures at your wedding, "Shaadi Personal Maamla Hota hai. Why spend an insane amount of money on it? Rather, we should give it to the needy. I asked Arpita's parents, too, to donate the money they had kept aside for the wedding."
Apart from the reality shows like MTV Roadies and BigBoss, Ashutosh has done a couple of projects in Bollywood as well, few of which includes movies like Zila Ghaziabad and Kismat Love Paisa Dilli.
