Explaining the reason behind deactivating her social media accounts, the Dangal actress said that she wanted to take a “break from everything”.

“Because I’m just a human, like everyone else, who’s allowed to take a break from everything whenever the noise inside my head or around me reaches it’s peak,” the Dangal actress said on being asked why she left social media in the first place.

The 19-year-old had received a backlash at Twitter after she allegedly tried to justify the locust attack and floods in India by using a Quran verse.

However, Zaira fans came in support of her after the actor received a backlash at over her controversial tweet and #IStandWithZaira began trending on twitter. “Nothing is wrong in this tweet she wrote it right, all things happen only with permission of God whether it’s a punishment or etc. he can kill or do any miracle, he can do anything he wants cause it’s not our world it’s his, we are here just for some years not forever,” said one of her supporter.

Zaira, who has won a Filmfare Award and a National Film Award, left acting on June 30, 2019, because “it conflicted with her religious beliefs”.
