Amitabh Bachchan takes on NextGen Instagram with ‘not quite a bikini’ pic, calls it 'bhara hua kini'
New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: The star-studded horizon of Mumbai’s film industry has been the witness to multiple avatars of Amitabh Bachchan over the course of more than five decades of his career.
The angry young man of late seventies who went on to anthemise ‘Jumma Chumma De De’ in 1991 while being the Host to KBC a decade after, has turned his eyes in 2020 on a millennial-seasoned Instagrammable outreach while reminiscing his ever-glorious days from a 1983 film ‘Mahaan’ on its 37th release anniversary.
The 77-years old superstar recently took to Instagram to share ‘not quite a bikini’ picture in which he is seen wearing shorts and a striped ganji, while aiming to match up the ‘big numbers of insta’ like the 'NextGen'. The picture is a still of Bachchan from a 1983-film ‘Mahaan’ in which he played ‘triple role’ for the first time in his career.
‘Mahaan’ was one of those films which was released just a few months after Amitabh came out victorious against battling the death due to an accident on the sets of film ‘Coolie’ in 1982, and as Bachchan's recollection of 'Mahaan' is out on display on social media, the film seemingly has a special place in Bachchan’s heart.
“Somebody was explaining to me why I was not getting the big numbers on Insta , unlike all the other youngGEN .. he said “ because you can’t put up a pic in a bikini “ !!!
And suddenly this one popped up .. not quite a bikini , it’s more ‘bhara hua kini’ .. from my film MAHAAN .. triple role .. and today 37 th year of its release !!(sic),” Amitabh Bachchan captioned the 37-years old picture.

Big B has Ayaan Mukherji anthology ‘Brahmastra’ lined up for shoot and release, but the entertainment world too has stalled its work in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. His other releases that are in the pipeline include Rumi Jaffery’s ‘Chehre’ alongside Emraan Hashmi and Nagraj Manjule’s sports-drama ‘Jhund’.
