'All of us will be in quarantine for next 14 days': Boney Kapoor as house staff tests positive for COVID-19
New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: The number of coronavirus cases in India has crossed 1 lakh. Almost all the citizens around the country are affected due to the pandemic. In view of rising cases in India, the NDMA on Sunday extended the lockdown till May 31.
Apart from common man, celebrities are also affected by the outbreak of COVID-19. All the shoots have been stopped. Among Bollywood superstars, singer Kanika Kapoor had tested positive for the virus a few months ago. While everyone has been asked to stay home amid virus outbreak, a household help at producer Boney Kapoor's house in Lokhandwala has tested positive for the virus.
Charan Sahu, 23, was unwell on Saturday and sent for tests and kept in isolation. Once the results were released, the BMC and other state government authorities began the process of getting Boney Kapoor's house turn into a quarantine center.
In a notification, Boney Kapoor said, "I would like to inform you that our house staff, Charan Sahu aged 23 years, has tested positive for COVID-19. He was unwell on Saturday evening, was sent for tests and kept in isolation. After receiving the test report, our housing society authorities were informed and then accordingly started the process of getting him into a quarantine centre."
"My children, our staff at home and I, are all fine and none of us are showing any symptoms. In fact, we haven't left our home since the lockdown started. All of us will be in quarantine for the next 14 days. We shall be diligently following the instructions and advice given to us by the BMC as well as their medical team. We are thankful to the Government of Maharashtra and the BMC for their swift response," he added.
"I am sharing this information because it is important not to feed rumors and panic. We will take precautions as required. We are sure that Charan will recover and be back at home with us soon," the statement added.
Meanwhile, Boney Kapoor is in quarantine with her daughters Janhvi and Khusi. Janhvi has been sharing pictures with her sister to keep Instafam busy.
