The elections for the 60-member assembly in Manipur are slated to take place on February 27 and March 3 this year. Currently, the BJP-led NDA government headed by Chief Minister N Biren Singh is in power in Manipur. In the previous assembly elections held in 2017, the Congress had emerged as the single largest party with 28 seats while the BJP got 21 seats. On the other hand, NPF and NPP won four seats each with the Trinamool Congress bagging one seat.
