New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The ongoing tussle in Maharashtra over the government formation have become a heavy task for the political parties. After the BJP steps back from staking claim to form the government, the Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari invited Shiv Sena to stake a claim. The Sena, however, didn’t manage to get the letter of support from the two parties -- Congress and NCP -- leading to the Governor inviting the NCP to stake a claim on Monday. The governor has given them time till 8:30 pm today to stake a claim.

However, the NCP on Tuesday said that any decision will be taken after its ally Congress decides on the course of action. Senior NCP leader, Ajit Pawar said, “Whatever decision will be taken collectively, so we were waiting for Congress response yesterday but it didn't come, we can't decide on it alone. There is no misunderstanding, we contested together and are together”.

High level meets regarding the situation are being done, as NCP Chief Sharad Pawar went to meet Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut at Mumbai’s Lilawati Hospital after he was admitted to the hospital yesterday complaining of chest pain, while the top Congress leaders have deferred coming to Mumbai to meet NCP leaders.

On the other hand, Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Tuesday quoted lines of legendary poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan to reaffirm his party's resolve to succeed and not give up. He wrote, "Lehron se dar kar nauka paar nahi hoti, himmat karne waalon ki kabhi haar nahi hoti" (the boat that qualms the waves never gets across, those who dare do not lose).

The Rajya Sabha member further tweeted, "Hum honge kamyaab, zaroor honge" (we would succeed, definitely).

In the meanwhile, President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday accepted the resignation of Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Arvind Sawant (Shiv Sena MP). I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar has been assigned additional charge of Sawant's ministry.

Sawant, the lone Sena MP in Modi’s Cabinet, had quit on Monday after accusing the BJP of lying with regard to its power-sharing promises in Maharashtra, thereby forcing the allies to snap ties.
