Mumbai | Jagran News Desk: NCP chief Sharad on Sunday hit back at Ajit Pawar after he said that the BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable government in Maharashtra for the next five years. Sharad Pawar reiterated that there is no question of forming an alliance with the BJP and his party has 'unanimously' decided to ally with the Shiv Sena and the Congress to form the government in Maharashtra.

"There is no question of forming an alliance with BJP. NCP has unanimously decided to ally with Shiv Sena & Congress to form government. Shri Ajit Pawar’s statement is false and misleading in order to create confusion and false perception among the people," he said in a tweet.

This comes after Ajit, earlier in the day, said that he is in NCP and shall always remain in the party and Sharad Pawar is their leader. He also said that the BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable government in Maharashtra for the next five years and will work sincerely for the welfare of the state and its people.

"I'm in NCP and shall always be in the NCP, and Sharad Pawar saheb is our leader. Our BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable Government in Maharashtra for the next five years which will work sincerely for the welfare of the state and its people," Ajit Pawar had earlier on Sunday.

In another tweet, he had said that "all is well and there is no need to worry". "There is absolutely no need to worry, all is well. However, a little patience is required. Thank you very much for all your support," he had said.

This was Ajit's first response to the high drama in Maharashtra after he joined hands with the BJP and took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. The statement from Ajit comes after the party sacked him as its leader in the State legislature.

Meanwhile, Sharad Pawar had earlier said that Ajit's decision to support the BJP is his personal decision and the party does not support or endorse it.

"Ajit Pawar's decision is against the party line and is indiscipline. No NCP leader or worker is in favour of an NCP-BJP government. All the MLAs who are going must know that there is an anti-defection law and the possibility of them losing their assembly membership is high," he had said.

Ajit, on Twitter, also thanked PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their wishes and said that he -- along with Devendra Fadnavis -- will ensure a stable government in Maharashtra. "Thank you Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji. We will ensure a stable Government that will work hard for the welfare of the people of Maharashtra," he said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Sunday issued notice to him and Devendra Fadnavis on Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena's plea and asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who was appearing for the state government, to produce relevant documents from Governor’s letter for inviting BJP to form government and letter of support of MLAs by 10.30 am on Monday.

The top court also asked declined fervent request of Mehta seeking two days time to place Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari's communication on record and asked him to produce letters by Monday at 10:30 am when the matter will be taken again.
