New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Following the Supreme Court’s order to conduct the floor test on Wednesday, to form the government in Maharashtra, the Congress-Shiv Sena-NCP combine and the BJP have claimed that they have the majority and can prove it right away.
Reacting to SC’ s order BJP leader Rao Saheb Danve said that the BJP can prove the majority by today as the party’s legislators will meet at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.” We will prove our majority. Tonight at 9 pm, all BJP MLAs will meet at Garware Club in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium”.

While NCP's Nawab Malik tweets "Satyameva Jayate" (truth alone triumphs) after Supreme Court verdict on Maharashtra floor test, Congress’ Prithviraj Chavan said, “Sena, Cong, NCP satisfied with SC order of floor test in Maha assembly, Constitution respected on Constitution Day. Tomorrow, at 11 am, members to take oath and at 5 pm Pro-tem Speaker to hold Floor Test in Maharashtra Assembly. All 3 parties (Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena) are satisfied with the Supreme Court order. Devendra Fadnavis should resign today”.

On the other hand, Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Raut soon after the SC’s order tweeted, “Truth can be troubled but can never be defeated”.

NCP Chief Sharad Pawar also welcomed the Supreme Court’s order and termed it as a tribute to BR Ambedkar on Constitution Day. “I am grateful to Hon’ble SC for upholding democratic values and constitutional principles. It’s heartening that the Maharashtra Verdict came on the #ConstitutionDay, a Tribute to Bharatratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar!”, he tweeted.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday expressed confidence of a win in the Maharashtra assembly floor test. "Absolutely", Gandhi said when asked if she is confident of winning the floor test which will be held on Wednesday as directed by the Supreme Court. Gandhi made the remark at a joint opposition protest over political developments in Maharashtra in front of the Ambedkar statue inside Parliament complex.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also commented on the situation and said that he hopes that the NCP-Congress-Shiv Sena will be able to form the government in the state. "I hope they will. We all respect the Supreme Court, we should respect its judgment".
