Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019 | History will take note of those who ridiculed J-K move: PM Modi
Parli | Jagran News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed a rally in Maharashtra’s Parli and attacked the Congress-NCP alliance over its stand on the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking about ending the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister said that history will take note of every person who ridiculed the abrogation of Article 370.
“I want to remind the entire country from Beed that whenever Article 370 is discussed in the future, every person who's made fun of the decision, who has stood against and challenged it, will be discussed,” said PM Modi in his address.
The Prime Minister further said that he has a complete list of those leaders who opposed the decision and made hate comments against the move.
“A leader of Congress said that by removing Article 370, we had lost Kashmir entirely. Have we lost it, really? Why are people who have ruled the country for the longest time after independence saying such things?” said PM Modi.
“Another Congress leader had said that had there been Hindus in Kashmir, BJP Government would have never taken this decision (abrogation of Article 370). Do you see 'Hindu-Muslim' in the unity and integrity of the country?” he added.
PM Modi also said that the move was taken by the government for benefit of the country and people can now see the fake remarks of those who criticised the move.
“The country can see through their scams and their fake remarks now. The country will punish them for their misdoings when the time comes, but Maharashtra has got the first opportunity to do it,” he said.
Further targeting the Congress and NCP leaders, he wondered if "frustrated and dejected" people could do anything good for people.
“The process of jailing those who looted public money has begun,” the prime minister said.
He also said that people voted for the BJP in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections because the party worked hard and the next week's state Assembly polls were a battle between BJP’s ‘karyashakti’ (power of development) and opposition’s ‘swarth shakti’ (selfishness).
“Today, if the whole state is behind the BJP-Shiv Sena Government, it’s because of the hard work we’ve put in in the last five years. On one side, there is the work ethic of the current Government, and on the other is the selfishness of the Congress-NCP leaders,” he said.
The Prime Minister further expressed confidence that the BJP will break all victory records in the October 21 Maharashtra Assembly elections.
Elections in Maharashtra will be held along with Haryana on October 21 and the fate of the candidates will be announced on October 24.
