Pakaur seat is also included in the 81 assembly seats of Jharkhand. Last Assembly Election held in 2014 where total vote percentage was 80.76%. The total number of voters were 291418, out of which male voters were 147737 and female voters were 143681. Incumbent MLA ALAMGIR ALAM contested from INC party and got 83338 votes from total votes polled and won the election.
