Kalayat seat is also included in the 90 assembly seats of Haryana. Last Assembly Election held in 2014 where total vote percentage was 82.51%. The total number of voters were 185214, out of which male voters were 102139 and female voters were 83075. Incumbent MLA BHAI JAI PARKASH J P contested from IND party and got 51106 votes from total votes polled and won the election. The upcoming Assembly elections in Haryana will see a high-voltage triangular contest between the three major parties -- the Congress, the Bhartiya Janta Party and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) - Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) alliance. The state goes to polls on October 21, along with Maharashtra and the counting of votes will be done on October 24.
