Haryana Assembly polls: Mayawati-led BSP announces list of 41 candidates

New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Sunday released a list of 41 candidates for the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections in Haryana. BSP released a press note that Party chief Mayawati has finalised a list of 41 candidates.
Last month Dushyant Chautala's Jannayak Janat Party (JJD) joined a poll alliance with BSP. Interestingly, it had previously joined hands with Aam Aadmi Party for Lok Sabha polls where it suffered a humiliating defeat. It was unable to secure a single seat.
Haryana has a total of 90 state assembly seats out of which 17 are reserved for SCs. It includes Mulana, Sadhaura, Shahbad, Guhla, Nilokheri,Israna, Kharkhauda, Narwana, Ratia, Kalanwali, Uklana, Bawani Khera, Hodal, Pataudi, Bawal, Jhajjar and Kalanaur.
There are around 1.82 registered voters in the Delhi's neighbouring state out of which 1.07 lakh are service voters.
Election Commission of India (ECI) has released that polling for Haryana (90-member) and Maharashtra (288-member) State Assembly will be held on October 21 and counting will take place on October 24.
The process of filing nominations for Haryana and Maharashtra Assembly polls kicked off on September 27. The last date of filing the nominations is October 4. The candidates can withdraw their nomination till October 7.
Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP government is currently ruling the state and it is expected to return back to power post upcoming polls. It had won 47 out of 90 seats in the previous (2014) Assembly election, while INC were reduced from 40 seats to just 15 seats. INLD seats too had reduced from 31 to 19.
