New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: After the trends going contrary to BJP’s expectation in Haryana, BJP Chief, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah summons Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar to Delhi, as the party is having a neck-to-neck battle against the opposition.

Amit Shah even canceled his scheduled appointments including an ITBP (Indo Tibetan Border Police) event, as reported by news agency ANI.

The ruling party, BJP, is struggling to reach to majority mark in Haryana and is hovering around 40 seats. On the other hand, the Congress is having a lead on 29 seats, and was reportedly in talks with JJP chief Dushyant Chautala, to discuss possibilities of forming the government.

While the Jannayak Janata Party Chief Dushyant Chautala on reports of Congress offering him CM post said, “I have not had any discussions with anyone. The decision will be taken only after the final numbers are out”, reported news agency ANI.

BJP is far from its ‘Mission 75’ target it had set as many ministers of the ruling party is trailing.

"We will try to introspect why we fell short of the target we had set for ourselves," BJP vice president Vinay Sahasrabuddhe said, as reported by NDTV.

The trends coming from Haryana are quite upsetting for the BJP, despite the nationalism approach picked by the BJP leaders including PM Modi at the time of campaigning. PM Modi addressed seven rallies in parts of Haryana, which were dominated by Jats, who form a larger chunk of voters in the state.

Voting for polls in Haryana concluded on October 21, with a total turnout of 61.95 per cent. The counting of votes is underway and the results will be declared by 5 pm today.
