New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The first phase of polling for the three-tier panchayat election in Chhattisgarh concluded at 3 pm on Tuesday. In naxal affected areas, polling took place between 6.45 am till 2 pm while in other areas voters exercised their franchise till 3 pm. More than 12,500 booths were set up for the first phase of polling. 

A well-organized system was put in place by the State Election Commission for orderly and peaceful voting. The counting process began at 4 pm,i.e., an hour after voting period was over.
