New Delhi | Jagran Education Desk: The registration process for the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) by National Testing Agency (NTA) set to take place in December has begun. The online application form is available on the official NTA website. It is conducted for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor.

The registration process started on Monday and will last till October 9, 2019. Admit card will be available for download from November 9. The examination is set to take place from December 2- 6 and the result will be announced on December 31.

NTA has also announced dates for 2020 UG NET exam. Application forms will be available from March 16 to April 16 and examination will take place between June 15-20.

There are two papers for NET exam. Paper one is comprised of 100 marks (50 questions) while paper 2 includes another 100 marks. The examination is conducted in two hours.

General categories will need to pay Rs 1000 for the application form while OBC quota candidates need to pay Rs 500. Special concession is availed to SC/ST and PwD category candidates who only needs to pay Rs 250.

Here is how to fill the application form:

Step 1: Open the website csirnet.nta.nic.in from our web browser.
Step 2: Click on Fill Application form once the homepage opens.
Step 3: Enter all the details like Name, DOB, qualifications, etc.
Step 4: Pay the application fees
Step 5: Keep a print copy for future reference.

UGC NET examination takes place twice every year. In the previous examination a total of 3690 candidates had qualified for Lecturership while 2150 others had qualified for Junior Research Fellowship.
