New Delhi | Jagran Education Desk: Jamia Millia Islamia University has invited applications for free coaching for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam 2020-21 on its official website. The course is aimed at preparing students for both prelims and mains exams. The interested candidates can apply for this course by visiting jmi.ac.in or jmicoe.in. The application deadline is June 15.

The free training classes are aimed at candidates belonging to minorities, SC/ ST, and women. In order to apply, a student needs to pass an entrance exam which will be held in six cities across the country-- Delhi, Lucknow, Srinagar, Bengaluru, Guwahati, and Malappuram.

There will be two papers in the JMI Free Coaching Written Examination which will be in line with the pattern of Civil Services Examination of the Union Public Service Commission.

Paper 1 or General Studies (Objective Type) questions will be 60 questions in English and Hindi languages.

In paper 2, there will be two topics for essay writing. The medium this paper is English, Hindi and Urdu.

General Studies (Objective Type) questions will include negative marking.

Note: Paper 2 of the top 1500 shortlisted candidates will be evaluated on the basis of Paper 1 scores.

Those who will clear the written test will be called for an interview.

There are a total of 208 seats out of which 10 per cent is reserved for those candidates below 24 years of age. Some seats are also reserved for specially-abled candidates.

The coaching classes will include teaching topics like CSAT, general studies, and selected optional papers. Test series and answer evaluation will be part of the free training. JMI will also conduct a mock interview for candidates who qualify UPSC Main exam.

The hostel rooms are free but Rs 3,000 will be charged for mess facilities. The exam fee is Rs 650.
