New Delhi | Jagran Education Desk: The Maharashtra School Education department has directed all the primary and secondary education officers and the schools under Zila Parishads to announce the results of Class 1 to 9 and 11 as soon as possible, said a report published in Times Now. The results would be declared on the websites of schools or it can even be informed on the registered mobile numbers of parents via a text message/voice call.

The state education is doing its best to begin the next session as early as possible as academic sessions have already faced a delay in the state due to nationwide lockdown imposed to prevent the spread of the virus.

The education department has been to review its decision by the Brihanmumbai Association of Heads of Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools as it was not possible for all schools to prepare results because the exam papers were kept in school premises and teachers were not allowed to travel in the state. The association president was concerned about the safety and security of the teachers from coronavirus and police deployed to prevent people's movement in the states except for essential items.

The education department had earlier announced that students of classes 1 to 8 and 11 would be promoted without annual exams. Now since the lockdown has entered the third phase, there is a loss of time and academic learning that has forced the department to make such decisions.

Meanwhile, the School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has requested the resumption of evaluation of class 10 exam papers in low-risk areas. The exam copies are yet to reach the exam centres due to lockdown which will be done now. The state government will broadcast educational programs for students via TV and radio to minimise losses in academic learning.
