New Delhi | Jagran Education Desk: The Kerala government on Wednesday said remaining exams for Class 10 and 10+2 exams in the state will take place from May 26 to 30, according to media reports. 

The announcement was made by the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan after reports surfaced that exams might be postponed. The chief minister said that the central government has permitted to conduct the exam as scheduled amid lockdown.

Students are advised to wear protective gear and follow strict social distancing measures.

Earlier today, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the remaining CBSE secondary and higher secondary exam can be conducted during nationwide lockdown-- to combat the spread of coronavirus. He asserted that the state government should take responsibility to arrange buses and transport the students to exam centres.

"Taking into consideration the academic interest of large number of students, it has been decided to grant exemption from the lockdown measures to conduct Board examination for classes 10th and 12th, with few conditions like social distancing, face mask etc for their safety,” said Shah as quoted by PTI.

The results are likely to be released in the month of June or August. Admissions to class 11 or lower classes are likely to be held during the month of August. The academic session 2020-21 will begin in September.
