Chandigarh | Jagran Education Desk: The Haryana Board of Secondary Education (HBSE) will not declare the results for class 10th board examination on Monday (June 8), said board's chairman Jagbir Singh while adding that the results will be declared only after the board conducts the science exam which was cancelled after the government imposed a nationwide coronavirus-induced lockdown. 

"We will announce results after students opting for medical and non-medical stream in Class 11 appear for their pending science exam. Other students' results will be evaluated on the basis of average marks scored by them in the four exams that they had appeared for," said Singh in a statement.  

The Haryana board, which was unable to conduct the fifth exam for science subject, had earlier said that the results will be calculated based on the evaluation of four subjects. It was supposed to announce the results earlier in May but the evaluation of answer sheets got delayed after the government imposed a nationwide lockdown to control the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

The Haryana board had also declared that it will conduct the pending board exams for class 12th from July 1 to July 15, saying that the datesheet will be released 10 days before the exams.

HBSE 10th Result 2019 Pass Percentage:

Last year, the Haryana board class 10th exams were given by 3,64,967 candidates. The passing percentage last year was 57.39 per cent as 2,09,445 were able to pass the exams. The overall girls’ passing percentage was 62 per cent while that of boys’ was 55 per cent. In 2019, the overall pass percentage had increased by six per cent. Meanwhile, the pass percentage in 2018 was 51.15 per cent. The overall boys’ passing percentage in 2018 was 55.34 per cent while that of girls was 47.61 per cent.  

HBSE 10th Result 2019 Toppers list:

In 2019, Himanshu from Jhanjhar topped the Haryana board exams with 497 marks. Apart from Himanshu, Sanju from Panipat, Isha Devi from Kaithal and Shalini from Narwana also scored 497 marks out of 500 each. Nisha from Hisar, Ritika from Fatehabad, Tannu from Panipat and Divya from Sirsa scored 496 marks out of 500 each.

On the other hand, Ekta from Kakroad, Muskaan from Sirsa, Sahil Bhardwaj from Panipat, Chhayya from Jind, Anshu from Jind, Pooja Devi from Hisar, Shubhanshu Kumar Ojha from Sonipat and Nidhi from Fatehabad scored 495 marks out of 500 each.  

HBSE 10th Result 2020 boys’ and girls’ comparison:

In 2019, the girls had outshined the boys in the Haryana class 10th board exams. The overall passing percentage of the girls was 62 per cent while that of boys was 55 per cent. On the other hand, the girls’ passing percentage in 2018 was 55.34 per cent while that of the boys was 47.61 per cent. However, the overall passing percentage in 2018 was very low as only 51.15 per cent of candidates had passed the exams.
