Manchester | Jagran Sports Desk: Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir on Sunday was warned twice by the umpire for running on the pitch twice against India at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Amir was warned first time in the third over by Australian umpire Bruce Oxenford and then again the fifth over.

One more such warning, then Sarfaraz would have to remove him from the attack and it would have barred Amir to bowl again in this match.

It would have been a huge blow to Pakistan as Amir was the star with the ball against Australia in Taunton where he picked his best bowling figure in ODIs (5-30).

Bowlers are not allowed to run on the protected area near the stumps after delivering the ball.

India and Pakistan are facing each other for the seventh time in the World Cup. India have won all the previous six occasions.

India were playing without regular opener Shikhar Dhawan who had injured his finger in the game against Australia. Vijay Shankar had replaced Dhawan in the game against Pakistan.
