Ranchi | Jagran Sports Desk: Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Tuesday said that BCCI President-elect Sourav Ganguly has not spoken to me about Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s international future adding that the former Indian captain will get in touch with him when he needs to.

“I congratulated him (Ganguly). It's great that he has become BCCI President. But he's not spoken to me about that (MS) yet. He will get in touch with me when he has to. I am sure I will go and meet him when he tells me to,” said the Indian skipper while interacting with media at the post-match press conference.

Dhoni, who is on a sabbatical from international cricket, is not expected to play against Bangladesh in the upcoming T20 series.

The World Cup-winning captain, however, dropped in on Tuesday to meet the Indian team members. When asked about Dhoni’s visit, Kohli jokingly told journalists to come to the change room and say "hello" to the former skipper.

Ganguly, who is being nominated as the BCCI's President, had said that that he would like to speak to the selectors as well as Dhoni to know what they had in mind.

“I will meet him (Kohli) just like a BCCI president meets the Indian captain. It's upto him to decide if he wants rest,” Ganguly had said.

Dhoni, 38, last played for India in the semi-final against New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup in England. He joined the Indian Army for two weeks and missed the West Indies tour. After that, he was also not included in the squad for the T20I series against South Africa.

The veteran wicket-keeper has not announced his retirement from the game but speculations are being made that he might soon take retirement from the game.
