India vs Sri Lanka, 2nd T20I: Shardul Thakur bags three wickets in an over | Watch
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Team India fast bowler Shardul Thakur on Tuesday shined with the bowl as he scalped three wickets in just one over. The 28-year-old first dismissed Dhanajaya de Silva (17) off the second delivery of 19th over and then picked consecutive wickets off fifth and sixth ball, picking the wickets of Isuru Udana (1) and Sri Lanka skipper Lasith Malinga for a golden duck. He finished with 23/3 in his quota of four overs. The hat-trick ball will bowled in the upcoming T20I. If Shardul picks a wicket off the first bowl then the pacer will successfully complete a hat-trick.
Shardul Thakur was the hero of the match in the last ODI against West Indies where he had slammed 17 runs off just six balls helping the Men in Blue win the series 2-1 at home.
The third T20I between India and Sri Lanka was held at the Holkar Stadium, Indore on Tuesday. In the match, Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Bowlers replied smartly asthey restricted the visitors for just 142/9 in 20 overs. Kushal Perera was the top-scorer, managing 34 runs. Apart from Shardul, Navdeep Saini and Kuldeep Yadav also scalped two wickets each.
In reply, India won the match with 7 wickets left. Openers KL Rahul (45) and Shikhar Dhawan (32) added 71 runs for the opening wicket while Shreyas Iyer (34) and skipper Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 30 runs.
Earlier on Sunday, the first T20I at Guwahati was abandoned with a ball being bowled. The third T20I is scheduled to take place at MCA Stadium, Pune on January 10 (Friday).
