New Delhi | Jagran Sports Desk: Zaheer Khan who celebrated his 41st birthday on Monday responded to Hardik Pandya's birthday wish for which the latter received criticism on Twitter. Khan took a savage moment on the microblogging site reminding him of the next delivery he faced in that match.

"Hahahaha....thank you for the wishes @hardikpandya7 my batting skills can never be as good as yours but the birthday was as good as the next delivery you faced from me in this match," Zaheer Khan wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, Pandya had shared a video in which he can be seen hitting the pacer out of the park. "Happy birthday Zak ... Hope you smash it out of the park like I did here @ImZaheer," Pandya captioned the video.

Netizens enjoyed the banter between the two cricketers and were quick to react. One user wrote, 'Respect Kidhar Hai', 'This is pure overconfidence. Zak is the best', replied another.

For those who do not follow cricket, Zaheer Khan was instrumental in India's 2011 World Cup triumph where he claimed 21 wickets in the tournament.

In his career spanning 14 years, Zaheer Khan featured in over 200 ODIs and 92 Tests claiming 282 and 311 wickets respectively.

Later on Tuesday, the former team India pacer Zaheer Khan celebrated his birthday with wife Sagarika Ghatge. Khan shared a video of birthday celebrations where he can be seen cutting a cake.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya underwent lower back surgery in London last week after his lower back problem resurfaced during the recently concluded T20I series against South Africa that kept him out for an indefinite time from team India squad in last 12 months. He is undergoing rehabilitation and is expected to make a comeback in India's tour to New Zealand.
