New Delhi | Jagran Sports Desk: India's splendid left-handed all rounder Yuvraj Singh has invited himself trouble after allegedly throwing a casteist slur at his fellow teammates Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav during an online chat session with Indian Cricket Team's opener batsman Rohit Sharma.

A complaint has been filed against Chandigarh-based Yuvraj Singh in Hisar district's Hansi Police Station in Haryana, by advocate and Dalit Rights' activist Rajat Kalsan, Zee News reported.

Kalsan has accused Yuvraj of making anti-Dalit remarks with reference to a particular derogatory word associated with the Dalit community. He said that Yuvraj's reference to that word has hurt the sentiment of the Dalit people across the country. Kalsan even pointed out that Rohit Sharma, with whom Yuvraj was initiating an online interaction, should have objected to that but instead laughed in agreement.

CDs and documents related to the incident will be also be handed over to the police, Kalsan said. The incident came to light when, lately, 'Apologise Yuvraj Singh' started trending on Twitter. People called out the derogatory remark Yuvraj made, and asked the Cricketer to surface an apology on the matter.

“We Respect you @YUVSTRONG12 and everyday as a good human as a great cricketer but what you have said is really not acceptable. It's time for you to walk outside and apologize for this mistake...," a user wrote.

"Strict measures should be taken against all who use casteist slurs including the recent case of Yuvraj. Demeaning the Valmiki Samaj through derogatory use of "bhangi" is yet another instance showing how blind do people remain with their caste privilege," wrote another user.

The Man of the tournament of 2011 ICC World Cup, Yuvraj last played in Indian jersey in 2017, having played in 304 One Day International matches for the Indian Cricket Team in total, scoring 8701 runs and taking 111 wickets in process.
