New Delhi | Jagran Business Desk: Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a central scheme with 100 per cent from the government. The scheme came into effect on December 1, 2018. Under this scheme, an income of Rs 6,000 per annum is provided to all farmers across India in three installments of Rs 2,000 each every four months. The fund is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiery.

For enrollment, the farmer is required to approach local patwari/ revenue or nodal officer nominated by the state government. Common Service Centres (CSCs) have also been authorised to do the registration of farmers for scheme upon payment of fees. Farmers can also do self-registration through Farmers Corner in the portal. You can also know the status of your payment through the above section. Follow these simple steps to register yourself for the PM Kisan scheme.

Step 1: Visit the official website of PM Kisna Samman Nidhi --

Step 2: Click or tap on 'Farmer's Corner'.

Step 3: Click on 'New Farmer Registration' in the drop-down list.

Step 4: Enter 'Captcha Code'.

Step 5: Fill the details to register online.

Using the above website, you can also check the list of farmers who benefits from the scheme.

Note: The entire responsibility of identification of beneficiary farmer families rests with the State / UT Governments. Farmers covered under the Exclusion Criteria of the Operational Guidelines are not eligible for the benefit of the Scheme.

In view of the crisis faced by the poor farmers across the country due to the nationwide lockdown, the government had recently sent the first installment of the current financial year under the PM-Kisan scheme.

According to a tweet post by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the central government has disbursed a total amount of Rs 18,253 crore to 9.13 crore farmers under the PM-KISAN scheme during the lockdown.
