Top Business Updates Nov 7: Sensex zooms to an all-time high at 40,653 points, Nifty closes above 12000-mark

Today, our main focus is on Sensex that rallied by over 200 points in Wednesday's trade. Nifty is likely to end over 12,000-mark as optimism between the US and China continue to prevail and bank, auto stocks continue to yield good result.
Here's how the markets fared today:
The benchmark Sensex gained 183 points in Thursday's trade to close at an all-time high of 40,653 points, while Nifty surged by 46 points to close at 12,012 per cent.
Top gainers in the Sensex pack included Reliance Industries, Sun Pharma and IndusInd Bank that rose up to 3.5 points. DFC, Infosys, Bajaj Finance, ITC, Vedanta and Asian Paints were among other gainers.

Here's how the markets opened today:
The S&P Sensex opened over 200 points high at 40,676 points led by gains in HDFC, ITC and RIL shares as positive cues boosted investors sentiment. The 30-index opened 203 points high at 40,672. NSE Nifty too gained 50 points to 12,016. Top gainers were IndusInd Bank, SBI, ITC, HDFC, RIL, Axis Bank and Bajaj Finance rising by up to 3 per cent.
However, Tata Steel, Vedanta, ONGC, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors, Yes Bank and Bajaj Auto shares slipped by up to 2 per cent.
Meanwhile, Rupee depreciated 10 paise to 71.07 against USD while Brent crude plunged 0.1 per cent to 61.70 per barrel.

Rupee: 71.07 per USD
Fuel prices remained unchanged in Thursday's trade.
Petrol per litre:
Rs 72.6 in Delhi, Rs 75.26 in Kolkata, Rs 78.22 in Mumbai and Rs 76.39 in Chennai
Diesel per litre:
Rs 65.76 in Delhi, Rs 68.11 in Kolkata, Rs 68.91 in Mumbai and Rs 65.4 in Chennai
Gold and Silver prices also remained stable on Thursday.
Gold: Rs 38,245 per 10 grams of pure gold
Silver: Rs 45,707 per kg
