New Delhi | Jagran Business Desk: The price of petrol and diesel have witnessed a sharp fall in the last one month. The prices have gone down by nearly Rs 4 per litre amid the Coronavirus outbreak in China which has now spread over 28 countries. The tragedy has led to a drop in oil prices. As per stats, the spread of the deadly virus has led to a decrease in prices of crude by 20 per cent in the international oil market. Apart from this, the easing tension between Iran-US and the signing of the first phase trade deal between US-China has also led to the fall in oil prices.

Metro Cities

On Sunday, the petrol price dipped by 22 paise to Rs 72.23, while Diesel slipped to 65.23 per litre in the national capital. The prices were Rs 76.01 per litre of petrol and Rs 69.17 per litre Diesel on January 11.

In the financial capital, Mumbai, Petrol price in Mumbai decreased by 22 paise to reach Rs 77.89 per liter. Diesel was also being sold for 21 paise cheaper at Rs 68.36 per liter. Petrol in Kolkata was sold 21 paise cheaper at Rs 74.92 per liter. To buy diesel in the city, you need to pay Rs 67.59 per liter.

The price of petrol in the southern city of Chennai saw a reduction of 23 paise at Rs 75.04 per liter. Meanwhile, price of diesel in Mumbai rose increased to Rs 68.89 per liter.

NCR region

In Ghaziabad, the price of petrol eased by 17 paise. One liter petrol was being sold at Rs 73.98 per liter. Diesel prices, however, rose to Rs 65.35 per liter. Petrol was available in Noida at Rs 74.10 per liter, while diesel was sold at Rs 65.49 per liter.

In Gurgaon, petrol was being sold at Rs 72.3 per litre, while Diesel cost Rs 64.61 per liter.
